Clyst Honiton is a popular cul-de-sac village and small civil parish five miles from Exeter in the East Devon district with easy access onto the A.30 and M5. The church is St Michael & All Angels and the friendly community benefits from an active parish council and the convenience of having a much wider range of amenities in the nearby neighbouring 'new town' development at Cranbrook including a Coop and modern state of the art primary school, namely St Martins C of E Primary & Nursery School. A choice of cycle tracks take you all the way into the city centre and there is a regular bus service to and from the city centre. Exeter International Airport, which we understand was opened on 31 May 1937, is located on the outskirts of the village. Interestingly, Clyst Honiton used to be on the original main A30 road from Exeter to Honiton but was bypassed in the 1990s and a another bypass to the east of the village now links the new A30 to Cranbrook and the surrounding developments. The Parish is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Broadclyst, Rockbeare, Aylesbeare, Farringdon and Sowton. Nearby pubs/dining venues include the local village pub The Exeter Inn, The Black Horse (traditional family pub/restaurant within an easy 10 minute level walk), Cranberry Farm Pub & Restaurant, and the ‘The Jack in The Green’ which boasts two AA Rosettes and numerous accolades from independent critics as one of the best restaurants in Devon. The Oriental Promise is a popular Chinese restaurant with takeaway service just beyond 'The Jack in the Green'.
